Gina
performs the Raks Sharki as a solo artist and as a member of
the troupe Bellyissima. She recently made her off
Broadway debut with the Dalia Carella Dance Collective with
the well received show, "In Search of a Goddess" at the Duke
Theater in June 2004. She continues to tour
domestically with the company. This has included the
World Premiere of Bhangra Hip Hop Fusion choreographed by
Ms. Carella and Arianna al Tiye. Ms. Bergamini's
participation in this project was supported in part with
funds from the Special Opportunity Stipend Program through
NY Foundation for the Arts and NY State Council on the ARts
administered in Mid-Hudson by Garrison Art Center.
As a member of Caribbean Rose Dancers, Gina is happy to
fuse Arabic and Spanish dance under the creativity of
choreographer Altagracia. Gina also dances with
Rae Ballard's Thoughts in Motion Dance Company which
brings modern dance to public schools as well as the
concert stage.
Trained in belly dance, modern,
ballet, jazz and other forms of Ethnic and World Dance, Gina
freelances for different companies as a performer and
choreographer.
Gina holds a degree on Voice Performance and has performed
in regional theaters in musicals such as Gypsy and Guys and
Dolls, as well as children's theater. She dances, sings, tells stories and teaches movement to all ages.
Under the tutelage of the fiery Dalia Carell and the
incredible Serena, Gina has fashioned her own sense of style
with cabaret belly dancing. Gina brings the joy of the
dance to weddings, parties, community events, and the
concert stage all over.
